About this opportunity

NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (WSS), a Department of the Navy agency, is seeking a contractor to evaluate, repair, and modify specific naval equipment items for the DDG 1000 naval vessel. The agency intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, specifically DRS Naval Power Systems, Inc., due to a lack of necessary repair data from alternative sources. Interested contractors must submit capability statements within 15 days of the notice's publication and provide a Source Approval Request package if they are not an already approved source. The government will consider all responses received within this timeframe, though the determination to compete the contract remains solely at their discretion. Contractors must follow the detailed submission guidelines outlined in the NAVSUP-WSS Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair, available on the agency's website.

The contract is structured as a Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) with five base years and no option years, focusing on repair of electrical and electronic assemblies categorized under NAICS 334412 and PSC 5998. The attached Attachment A details eight specific items requiring repair, with annual quantities ranging from 1 to 32 units per item and total estimated quantities between 5 and 160 units over the contract period. While there is no specific set-aside designation, the procurement is limited to contractors capable of meeting the specialized repair requirements for naval equipment. The point of contact for this opportunity is William Biggs, who can be reached at william.g.biggs4.civ@us.navy.mil or by phone at 717-605-4061.
