About this opportunity
The Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane is seeking a non-commercial Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for the production, evaluation, repair, and rebuild of the Simplified Driver (SDR) Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) used in the Aegis AN/SPY-1D(V) Radar System. The contract will serve the United States Navy (USN) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) markets, with a planned duration of five years. Solicitations and amendments will be available exclusively from the point of contact, Heather Krout, on or around June 9, 2025, with an estimated award date of December 15, 2025. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and can submit capability statements or proposals, though the government retains sole discretion on competitive procurement. The contract will utilize a detailed CLIN structure covering evaluation, minor repair, major repair, rebuild, and new production for both USN and FMS requirements.
This is a sole source procurement intended to be awarded to Microwave Power Products (MPP) of Palo Alto, California, under FAR 6.302-1 (a)(2) authority. The estimated total contract value is $38 million, with MPP identified as the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the requirements without substantial cost duplication or unacceptable delays. The procurement falls under NAICS category 334419 (Other Electronic Component Manufacturing) and PSC category 5960 (Electron Tubes and Associated Hardware). The contract will include twelve specific Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) covering various service categories and technical data requirements. While the procurement is not set aside for any specific business type, all responsible sources are invited to submit capability statements, though the government maintains exclusive discretion in determining the final acquisition strategy.
