About this opportunity
The United States Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Residence Inn in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The contract opportunity is specifically for securing lodging accommodations for two separate time periods in 2025. The sole source procurement will be conducted under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) and pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. The notice indicates that the Volpe Center believes only the Residence Inn can satisfy their specific lodging requirements. The contract falls under the NAICS category of Hotels and Motels, with a specific focus on providing accommodations for government personnel.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to secure two room blocks with specific requirements and parameters for the Volpe Center's operational needs. The first room block consists of up to 12 rooms from May 29 to June 28, 2025, and the second block includes up to 20 rooms from July 10 to August 17, 2025. All rooms must be within 0.75 miles of 220 Binney Street in Cambridge and include specific kitchen amenities such as a refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and complimentary internet services. Room rates are limited to the Federal Fiscal Year 2025 per diem rate. Interested parties must submit evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirements by April 25, 2025, at 2:30 PM Eastern Daylight Time, by emailing Melissa Reams, the Contract Specialist. While the notice is a sole source procurement, contractors can submit competitive evidence, though the final determination remains solely at the government's discretion.
