About this opportunity
The Department of Homeland Security Office of Procurement Operations has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to extend services under an existing contract for Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services. The notice pertains to Contract 70RFP121DE2000001, currently held by Kerberos International, Inc., which provides security services at Customs and Border Protection (CBP) locations throughout Puerto Rico. This is not a competitive solicitation, and the government will proceed with the extension under the terms of the existing contract. The Special Notice falls under the Security Guards and Patrol Services NAICS category and is designated as a Competitive 8(a) set-aside. The notice was posted on March 6, 2026, with a due date of March 7, 2026.
The government intends to exercise an optional extension provision (FAR 52.217-8) included in the original contract for a period of up to six months, with services commencing on or about May 1, 2026. Since this option extension was evaluated and determined to be within the scope of the original contract at the time of award, no new competitive proposals will be solicited. The extension does not represent a new opportunity for competing contractors, as it is reserved for the current contract holder. No additional eligibility requirements or submission instructions are applicable, as this represents a unilateral government action to extend an existing service agreement. Contractors seeking to compete for Armed Protective Security Officer services with the Department of Homeland Security should monitor future solicitations from the Office of Procurement Operations for new contract opportunities.
