About this opportunity

The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Protective Service Acquisitions Division has issued a sole source justification notice to extend the current indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract with Paragon Systems, Inc. for armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) services throughout the New England territory, including Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont. The six-month extension, running from August 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026, is being implemented under FAR 6.302-1 authority due to unexpected delays in the follow-on procurement process, including a rescinded offer and increased documentation requirements that have prevented the timely award of a new competitive contract. The extension ensures continuous security services without interruption while allowing sufficient time to finalize the new competitive task order and provide a 120-day transition period. Paragon Systems, Inc., headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, will continue providing services at the current contract rates, which have been determined fair and reasonable through comparison with other competitive contracts in the FPS Eastern Zone. The contract falls under NAICS code 561612 (Security Guards and Patrol Services) with a small business size standard of $29 million, though specific award values for this extension were not disclosed in the notice.
