About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 26 units of a specific switch (NSN 1H-5930-017245754-X3) with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 001. The delivery location is DLA Distribution Norfolk, VA, and the government intends to negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority. Interested parties may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the notice's publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government will consider all proposals received during this period, with the final determination of competitive procurement at its sole discretion. Potential bidders can obtain relevant specifications and documentation through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via online ASSIST-Quick Search or by contacting the DODSSP ASSIST Help Desk.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. The procurement is not being pursued under FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, though interested parties may identify commercial item capabilities within 15 days of the notice. The switch procurement appears to involve complex technical specifications, with the government noting that reverse engineering the part would be uneconomical and that data rights for additional sourcing are not owned by the government. While specific award value is not disclosed, the procurement involves 26 units of a specialized switch component. The notice was posted on March 27, 2025, with responses due by April 28, 2025, suggesting a relatively short timeline for potential contractors to express interest and prepare submissions.
