About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure magnetic switches (NSN 1H-5930-016725039-D4, TDP VER 002) through this pre-solicitation notice. This procurement action intends to negotiate with a single source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1; however, all responsible sources are encouraged to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements to demonstrate their interest and capability. The Government will consider all proposals received within 45 days of the notice publication (30 days if award is issued under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement) to determine whether a competitive procurement should be conducted. Interested contractors should note that the submission of capability information does not guarantee that this procurement will be competed, as the Government retains sole discretion in deciding whether to proceed competitively based on responses received. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on April 30, 2025, with a due date of April 9, 2026, providing potential bidders with an extended window to prepare their responses.
This procurement is not subject to any set-aside designations, meaning it is open to all eligible contractors. The requirement specifies a quantity of 13 units to be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine (N50286, L1SS). No specific award value or budget range is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, nor are any incumbent contractors or current vendors identified. The notice does not provide detailed evaluation criteria beyond the standard determination of whether competitive procurement is warranted based on the responses received and the Government's assessment of single-source justification. Contractors interested in this opportunity should monitor for the full solicitation or contact the Naval Supply Systems Command for additional technical specifications and requirements.
