Potential vendors must demonstrate capability to meet the specific technical requirements and understand that the rights to use the necessary data for purchasing or repairing this part are not currently owned by the government.
This pre-solicitation notice is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, meaning only small businesses are eligible to compete for the contract. The switch will be delivered specifically to SW3117 at the Norfolk, VA distribution center. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement involves 80 individual switch units with a precise technical specification. The government has explicitly noted that reverse engineering this part would be uneconomical, suggesting a specialized or complex component. Potential respondents are advised that their submissions will be evaluated primarily on their ability to meet the technical specifications and demonstrate capability to produce the required switch. The opportunity represents a targeted procurement with specific technical and manufacturing requirements, emphasizing the technical complexity of the requested equipment.
