About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a fiber optic switch, identified by NSN 7R-6021-016185545-P8, with a quantity of 1 unit to be delivered FOB Origin. The proposed contract action will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for single-source procurement. Interested parties can obtain relevant specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via the Document Automation and Production Service, with most documents available through ASSIST-Online. The Government will consider proposals received within 45 days (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement) after the publication of this synopsis. Potential vendors must demonstrate their capability to satisfy the Government's requirement, with the agency reserving sole discretion on whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
This pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for the contract. The procurement falls under the PSC Category 7G21 for IT and Telecom Network Digital Network Products, specifically involving hardware or perpetual license software. While no specific award value is disclosed, the single-unit procurement suggests a focused, potentially specialized acquisition. The opportunity remains open for responses until February 14, 2025, providing a substantial window for potential contractors to express interest. Notably, the Government has determined that FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition will not be applied to this solicitation. Interested parties without internet access can contact the DODSSP ASSIST Help Desk at 215-697-2667 for additional information or document acquisition.
