About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Strategic Systems Programs intends to issue a sole-source request for proposal to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation-Mission Systems for sustainment support of the TRIDENT II Underwater Launcher Subsystem for the United States Fleet Ballistic Missile. This effort is linked to work already being performed by the contractor under a previous contract. Proposals are due by November 29, 2023, after which an award notice and supporting justification will be publicized.
There is no set-aside designation for this opportunity. The primary NAICS code relates to guided missile and space vehicle manufacturing, and the dominant PSC code involves missile and space vehicle equipment repair and overhaul. As the incumbent, Northrop Grumman is uniquely qualified to provide continuity of operations for the nuclear deterrent payload. The value of the previous contract award suggests this follow-on effort could be valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. The services involve ongoing sustainment through the end of the current fleet deployment timeline.
