The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service is seeking engineering firms qualified to provide boundary and topographic surveys of proposed wetland easement areas.

Boundary survey work shall include research, field surveys, field notes, computations, boundary monumentation, a survey map, report, boundary description, CD +/- R in ESRI format shape file, and surveyor?s certificate addressing title subjections. Requirements for survey mapping: all surveys are to be completed on hardcopy map will be close traverses meeting a minimum accuracy of 1/10,000 after angular adjustments. Methods used to obtain this requirement are at the discretion of the surveyor. Each parcel map shall include the Point of Beginning with an associated coordinate, the grid angle between True North and Grid North and scale factor for converting grid distance to ground distances. Requirements for resource GPS: all surveys shall be referenced to UTM Zone 18 or 17, North American Datum (NAD) 83 decimal degrees, meters. Required accuracy of three meters or less on all positions.

Topographic surveys shall include sufficient detail to produce a topographic map of the designated area with a one foot contour. Obvious grade breaks will be noted. All low points along the boundary of the site will be determined such that maximum water levels in impoundments can be designed without flooding off site land. Any channels deeper than 1.5 feet will be shown. The main drainage way will be identified as such. The water surface elevation and date shall be noted on significant bodies of standing water. Any significant ground features (culverts, tile outlets, obstructions, etc.) that can not be identified on an aerial photograph will be identified and located. Topographic survey will be geo-rectified to the UTM NAD 83 horizontal projection such that ortho-images can be easily overlain. Pipe invert elevations on visible inlets and outlets will be noted. Use UTM NAVD 88 for vertical datum. Topographic surveys will be provided in the form of a map, and electronically on a CD in a format that can be opened in AutoCAD 2006. Surface data used to generate contours will be provided in a form usable in Autodesk Land Desktop (e.g., dtm file, 3D faces, breaklines, boundary polylines). If special linetypes are used, the linetype file will be provided. Survey point data will be provided in a comma delimited ASCII file. Control points with descriptions and witness data will be included. A list of feature codes describing points will be provided. All topographic survey data will be provided in US Survey Feet.
