About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command (502D Air Base Wing) intends to solicit removal and installation of surgical scrub sinks under a Total Small Business set-aside, with industry responses to a Request for Information due 8 July 2026 at 10:00 AM CDT.
Work is performed at the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC), Joint Base San Antonio–Fort Sam Houston, Building 1394, Fort Worth, Texas. The scope requires removal of six existing wall-mounted surgical scrub sinks and installation of six new medical-grade stainless steel models (five triple-station SS2123-MK and one double-station SS2122-MK) equipped with hands-free, foot pedal, and/or sensor-operated gooseneck faucets, along with all necessary plumbing and electrical connections. All plumbing must comply with FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Outpatient Facilities and CDC infection control guidelines; sinks must be 304 or 316 stainless steel with seamless construction, covered corners, deep basins, integral backsplashes, and splash guards. The Government will provide electrical connections for sensor-operated faucets.
The contractor must complete all work within five calendar days of contract award, Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility permitted by the Contracting Officer to minimize disruption to active training operations. The contractor provides a one-year warranty with defects corrected within 24 hours at contractor expense. Responses to the RFI should address feasibility of the expedited five-day timeline, mobilization approach, quality control processes, experience with medical facility plumbing and infection control protocols, recommended NAICS and PSC codes, cost drivers, and disposal of potentially contaminated medical equipment and construction debris. Submit responses and questions to Shannon Mansfield at shannon.mansfield@us.af.mil, identifying small business status and socio-economic certifications if applicable.
