About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is procuring aircraft suppressors (NSN 7R-2995-015574993-YR) through this pre-solicitation notice. This procurement requires engineering source approval by the design control activity due to the flight-critical nature of the component and the specialized manufacturing knowledge required to maintain quality standards. Prospective contractors must demonstrate unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing expertise, with only previously Government-approved sources having been solicited for this opportunity. The Government will evaluate proposals based on technical capability to meet design specifications and the contractor's ability to maintain part quality through established manufacturing processes. The proposal due date is October 26, 2025, and potential bidders should note that if they are not already an approved source, they must submit source approval information documentation along with their proposal, though the Government typically cannot delay contract award pending new source approval.

The procurement carries no small business set-aside designation. The contract involves the acquisition of 11 units with delivery on a free-on-board origin basis, though specific award value information is not disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice. No incumbent contractor names are identified in the available documentation. Interested contractors who have not previously been approved as sources for this specific part should prepare comprehensive technical documentation demonstrating their production experience with identical or similar aircraft suppressor components, as the source approval process is typically time-intensive and may preclude new suppliers from consideration if approval cannot be expedited prior to contract award.
