About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support) is seeking to procure a specific aircraft support bearing, part number 06371-03807-102, with a National Stock Number 7RH 1680 016823670 H5. The procurement will be a sole source acquisition directly with Sikorsky, utilizing source authority under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 6.302, which allows for non-competitive procurement when only one source can meet agency requirements. The solicitation will be electronically posted to NECO, with interested organizations able to submit capabilities and qualifications via email to Jacob.r.wells14.civ@us.navy.mil. All proposals received within 45 days of the November 27, 2024 synopsis will be considered, though the government emphasizes this is not a competitive proposal request. The anticipated procurement approach will follow FAR Part 15 procedures, and firms not already approved to manufacture must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR), though SAR approval will not delay the procurement.
The contract involves purchasing three (3) units of the specified support bearing, with an anticipated award date in February 2025 under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (N0038320GX901). This is not a small business set-aside procurement, and the solicitation is not using FAR Part 12 commercial item acquisition policies. Electronic procedures will be exclusively used, with no telephone requests honored and no hard copies to be mailed. Sikorsky is the anticipated sole source provider, and the procurement is being conducted on a FOB Origin delivery basis. While specific contract value details are not provided, the procurement is specifically focused on a targeted repair/modification requirement for a specific aircraft component, suggesting a specialized and potentially high-precision acquisition targeting a very specific technical need.
