About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure electric and other replacement parts, specifically NSN 7H-1005-012483042, with a quantity of 50 units to be delivered to the DLA Distribution facility in New Cumberland, PA. The procurement is unique due to the complex technical requirements for manufacturing and repairing the part, which necessitates specialized test and inspection facilities to maintain ultra-precision quality and system integrity. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, though all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond within 45 days of the notice's publication. Evaluation will be based on the offeror's ability to meet specific qualification requirements at the time of award, and the contracting officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses received. Interested parties can obtain relevant specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point's Document Automation and Production Service in Philadelphia.
The procurement is not set aside for any specific group and covers a product classified under PSC Category 1005-P (Guns, Through 30Mm). While no specific award value is mentioned, the contract involves a single procurement of 50 units with delivery expected at the New Cumberland distribution center. The opportunity is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and may involve World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement provisions. The solicitation does not utilize FAR Part 12 policies for commercial items, though interested parties can propose commercial alternatives within 15 days of the notice. The contract will be awarded only if the offeror, product, or manufacturer meets the specified qualification requirements, with the final determination of competitive procurement remaining solely at the government's discretion. The proposed contract action has a response window ending on May 30, 2025, providing ample time for potential contractors to express interest and prepare submissions.
