***Although the Government's requirement and specifications were adequately synopsized through the original posting, this amendment is being issued to change the intended sole source from Exlar Incorporated to Minarik Automation & Supply. While Exlar Incorporated is a distributor for Minarik Automation & Supply, Minarik has been identified as the only source capable of fully meeting the Government's requirement, system, and accelerated delivery needs. The response date for this amendment is 12 May 2014 NLT 12PM CST.***
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) has a requirement for the procurement of a servo motor capable of moving an underwater carriage on the bottom of a test basin. ERDC CRREL Contracting intends to sole source this requirement to Exlar Incorporated, as they are the only source that has been identified as being capable of meeting the specific requirements of CRREL.
The following specifications are required:
Continuous Motor Torque - 11 lbf-ft
Pk Motor Torque - 22 lbf-ft
Continuos Current - 1.0 A
Peak Current - 2.5 A
Integrated Gear with 40:1 gear reduction ratio
MIL-C-5015 sealed connectors
Anodic coating, MIL-A-8625. TYPE III, Class 1
Oil Filled submersible to 8 feet
Survivable in Seawater for NLT 6 months without maintenance
Connection from Drive AMP to 150 feet, with appropriate connectors and COTS Drive Amp.
Any interested party that believes they are capable of fulfilling the aforementioned specifications are encouraged to submit a capability statement to be evaluated. Submissions to this notice may not change the Government's strategy to sole source this requirement, however all responses will be evaluated.
