About this opportunity
This Special Notice from the United States Agency for International Development Philippines seeks stakeholder feedback on a draft program concept called Strengthening Private Enterprise for the Digital Economy (SPEED). The proposed five-year SPEED activity aims to enable small and medium enterprises in the Philippines to safely and competitively participate in the digital economy by improving their capacity for technology adoption and innovation, expanding use of e-payment systems and other financial technologies, and better integrating e-commerce platforms with logistical supply chains.
The Notice announces a Virtual Industry Day on September 14, 2020 to discuss the attached draft program statement and solicit best practices for assisting small and medium enterprises participating in the digital economy. Responses to the amended Request for Information are due by September 21, 2020 and will be used to refine the draft concept and develop a design document clarifying the activity's intended impact, coordination efforts, and alignment with development partner and government priorities in the Philippines. Interested stakeholders must register to participate in the Virtual Industry Day with USAID by September 10, providing organization and participant names along with contact information.

The purpose of the industry day is to: a) inform interested organizations about USAID/Philippines’ program requirements to address challenges faced by small and medium enterprises as they participate in the digital economy; b) gain insight from organizations regarding their best practices and standards to assist with the requirements development; c) serve as venue for organizations to meet one another collaborate and create potential partnerships; and d) present to organizations how to do business with USAID. This stakeholder consultation shall be considered when further revising the SPEED design.
If your organization intends to participate in the Virtual Industry Day, please inform us by giving the name (organization and participant) and contact information of the participant by email to Janine Krizzia Dator (jdator@usaid.gov) no later than 3:00pm (Manila time) on September 10, 2020.
