About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Wright Patterson Air Force Base seeks a Storage Area Network replacement on a firm fixed-price basis, with quotes due September 9. Award will be made to the lowest price, technically acceptable, responsive, responsible offeror under a brand-name restriction to NetApp's 336TB solution.
Place of performance is Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The requirement is restricted to two AFF C30r2 HA Systems with 336.6TB SSD storage capacity each, supplied by authorized NetApp resellers, per the attached Bill of Materials. The procurement justification document notes that competing alternatives offering 737.28TB, 1PB, and 525TB of storage were rejected as technically unacceptable due to over-provisioning that would create unnecessary expenditures, operational overhead, workflow re-engineering costs, disaster recovery redesign expenses, and staff retraining requirements. The NetApp solution is deemed right-sized to strict environment requirements and represents best value.
The BOM includes supporting hardware (rail kits, 1600W Titanium power supplies, 100GbE QSFP28 and 25GbE SFP28 networking cables, IO modules), eleven NVMe self-encrypting drive packs with 2x15.3TB capacity each, ONTAP Base Package licensing, and services including SupportEdge Advisor for 30 months, next business day parts delivery, non-returnable drives coverage for 30 months, SupportEdge Protect for Government for 30 months, and standard-level ONTAP deployment services. Data at rest encryption is required. NAICS code is 334112, Computer Storage Device Manufacturing; PSC is 7K20, IT and Telecom—Storage Products. All prospective contractors must be registered in SAM. This combined synopsis/solicitation incorporates FAR provisions and clauses through FAC 2026-01. Alternative manufacturers or models will not be evaluated.
