About this opportunity

The National Park Service (NPS) Midwest Region is conducting a market survey to assess contractor capabilities for hazard tree removal at Ste. Genevieve National Historical Park in Missouri. The project involves removing twenty-three (23) dead or potentially hazardous trees from two separate locations: the Wilhauk House (park headquarters) and the Kern House. Contractors must be registered as a small business in the System for Award Management (SAM) under NAICS code 561730 for Landscaping Services, with a small business size standard of $9.5M. Interested firms are required to submit a Market Research Sources Sought Survey via email to adam_kircher@nps.gov by 1100 CDT on April 14, 2025, including the reference number 140P6025Q0021 in the subject line. The NPS will use this market research to determine contractor interest and capabilities, potentially leading to a future solicitation.

The procurement is not set aside for any specific socio-economic category, allowing small businesses with various designations to qualify, including Women-Owned Small Business, HUBZone, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business. The tree removal project is anticipated to begin in August 2025, with actual tree removal scheduled between November 2025 and March 2026. Sixteen (16) trees will be removed from the park headquarters and seven (7) trees from the Kern House, requiring specialized equipment and techniques due to location hazards. Contractors must remove trees as close to the ground as possible, with stump grinding not required, and are responsible for removing all tree materials while preserving park grounds. The specific scope of work will be provided if the government proceeds with a formal solicitation, which would be posted on SAM.gov.
