About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is seeking to procure engine electrical system components for aircraft prime moving applications, specifically National Stock Number 7R-2925-015238171-H1 (Reference Number 206-062-200-125). This pre-solicitation notice indicates that the Government intends to acquire these supplies through either urgent procurement procedures or simplified acquisition procedures, as permitted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) exceptions to standard synopsis requirements. The procurement falls under Product Service Code 2925, which covers engine electrical system components. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in this notice, prospective contractors should be prepared to demonstrate capability in supplying aviation electrical components that meet military specifications. The pre-solicitation was posted on February 7, 2026, with a response deadline of March 24, 2026, providing interested parties approximately six weeks to prepare their submissions.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and does not identify any current incumbent contractors in the notice. The Government requires delivery on a Free on Board (FOB) Origin basis for a quantity of three units. While no specific award value is stated, the use of simplified acquisition procedures suggests the contract value may fall within the expanded simplified acquisition threshold of $1,000,000 under Emergency and Expedited Acquisition Funding (EAF) authority. The notice indicates that the Government's right to use existing data in its possession regarding these components is questionable, which may impact how contractors present technical documentation and intellectual property. Interested vendors should monitor for the formal solicitation and prepare proposals demonstrating their ability to meet the urgent delivery requirements inherent in this procurement action.

Notice text

NSN 7R-2925-015238171-H1, REF NR 206-062-200-125, QTY 3 EA, DELIVERY FOB ORIGIN. FAR 5.202(a)(2) provides an exception to the requirement for publicizing contract actions (synopsis) when the KO determines that the supplies or services are urgently needed, and compliance with the usual timelines would cause harm to the Government. This exception can apply where EAF authority is utilized.- Additionally, FAR 5.202(a)(13) provides an exception to the synopsis requirement for acquisitions conducted under simplified acquisition procedures if the acquisition does not exceed the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT). Under EAF, the SAT increases to $1,000,000. The Government's right to use data in its possession is questionable.
