About this opportunity

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Ames Research Center has issued a Special Notice for a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract with ERADrive, Inc. focused on software algorithms and services for space object tracking. The contract specifically involves developing and integrating software for the Starling spacecraft swarm's star-tracker cameras to detect, identify, and track Resident Space Objects. NASA intends to leverage the existing on-orbit infrastructure and will utilize the Xilinx Zynq processor for this project. The procurement is being justified under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, with NASA determining that ERADrive, Inc. is the only responsible source capable of providing an operational solution for this specific technological requirement.

The Special Notice outlines a 24-month contract period from May 2025 to May 2027, with a total value covering software development, integration, and testing services. Interested organizations are invited to submit their capabilities and qualifications electronically via email to Joshua.D.Taggart by 5:00 PM CT on March 31, 2025. The government will evaluate submitted capabilities solely to determine whether the acquisition could potentially be conducted on a competitive basis, though the final decision remains at the government's discretion. The contract is classified under NAICS category 541715 for Research and Development in Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences, and will be acquired as a commercial product or service using FAR Part 12. NASA has also noted the applicability of NASA Clause 1852.215-84 regarding the Ombudsman, with contact information provided for additional guidance or inquiries about the procurement process.
