About this opportunity
The United States Space Force Space Delta 1, Detachment 1 is seeking parabolic flight services to support the Azimuth program, a summer space education and training initiative for military cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy. The contractor will operate modified aircraft from Colorado Springs Airport to provide flights simulating lunar, Martian, and microgravity environments while cadets conduct demonstrations and research experiments. Key qualifications required include FAA Part 121 certification, prior parabolic flight experience, aircraft availability and specifications capable of achieving accurate gravity profiles, and demonstrated past performance on similar government contracts. The government seeks detailed responses addressing logistical capacity to support 100 students within three weeks and 300 students over nine weeks, operational compliance with FAA safety standards, and recommendations for improving the draft Performance Work Statement. Responses to this Request for Information are due March 18, 2026, at 1400 hours EST with no extensions granted, submitted via email to kelly.parker.6@spaceforce.mil and HQ.STARCOM.PK@spaceforce.mil, limited to 20 pages single-spaced on company letterhead and including DUNS number, CAGE code, and FAA certifications.
This opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, with no incumbent contractor identified in the pre-solicitation materials. The anticipated period of performance spans one base year plus three option years, with 12 parabolic flights scheduled per performance period, each flight accommodating approximately 25 students over a four-hour duration and consisting of 15 parabolas. The contractor must furnish all personnel, equipment, and materials, including aircraft, qualified flight crew, aircraft maintenance, support equipment, program and quality management, flight suits, commemorative pins, professional photography and videography services, and contract management. No specific award value or budget range is stated in the pre-solicitation notice; however, comprehensive services covering a four-year performance period with substantial training and documentation requirements suggest a significant contract value. The NAICS classification is 481219 (Other Nonscheduled Air Transportation) and the PSC code is U099 (Education/Training- Other).
