About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 52 units of NSN 1H-5930-017245930-X3, a specific switch item with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 001. The procurement will be delivered to DLA Distribution Norfolk, VA, with a unique constraint that the rights to use the data for purchasing or repairing this part are not owned by the Government and cannot be easily obtained or reverse engineered. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may identify their interest and capability to respond. Interested parties must obtain necessary specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP), primarily via online ASSIST-Quick Search or by contacting the DODSSP Help Desk. Proposals, quotations, or capability statements will be considered if received within 45 days of the synopsis publication date.
This pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for the contract. While the exact award value is not specified, the procurement involves 52 units of a specialized switch component. The Government has explicitly stated that it will not be using FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, suggesting this is a unique or specialized procurement. Potential vendors have a 15-day window to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item. The contract will be processed through the Naval Supply Systems Command, with delivery destination set at SW3117 in Norfolk, VA. The solicitation process allows the Government sole discretion in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement based on the responses received.
