About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting a market survey through September 18, 2026 to identify potential suppliers for an electric squib (NSN 1377-01-722-8512) used in the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle's adjustable active suspension system, with no set-aside applied.

The Government currently sources this item exclusively from Amerex Corporation (CAGE 54905, part number 20640-040) but lacks full data rights and suitable competitive procurement drawings, triggering this FAR Part 10 market research survey. The squib functions as a mechanical actuator that lowers vehicle height to reduce profile, enabling transport in constrained spaces such as aircraft cargo holds and naval ships. The Government anticipates initial demand of 1,240 units with an option for an additional 1,240 units.

Potential suppliers must comply with the Source Approval Program and complete vehicle-level qualification testing at their own expense. TACOM Life Cycle Management Command's Competition Management Office administers the Source Approval Program; detailed requirements and points of contact are available at https://tacom.army.mil/ via the Ombudsman menu.

This survey is voluntary; submission carries no financial obligation on the Government and does not constitute a request for proposals. The classification falls under PSC 1377 (Cartridge and Propellant Actuated Devices and Components) and NAICS 325920 (Explosives Manufacturing).
