About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is conducting market research to identify qualified manufacturing and supply sources for a Cylinder and Piston (NSN 1620-01-625-2795, Part Number 70250-13101-046) in support of the Blackhawk weapon system, with responses due May 21, 2026. This is a Sources Sought Synopsis for market research only; no solicitation is currently available. The procurement is anticipated under FAR 6.302-1(a)(1) due to limited responsible sources—the approved source(s) retain unique design capability, engineering skills, manufacturing knowledge, and technical data essential to maintaining part quality and not economically available to the Government. NAICS Code 336413 applies, with a corresponding size standard of 1,250 employees.
All contractors must meet prequalification requirements and seek source approval through the Army Visibility and Management of Contracts (AvMC) public website to compete for future solicitations. The Government welcomes responses from all business types, including 8(a) small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. Offerors and their supply sources must possess active U.S./Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) certification to access export-controlled data, as this acquisition involves technical data restricted by the Arms Export Control Act. Contractors will be responsible for recurring and nonrecurring engineering services, supply chain management, logistics, material forecasting, and final delivery.
