About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is procuring radioactive sources, specifically planar sources and gamma calibration sources, through solicitation SPMYM225Q2291. The procurement includes eight line items for radioactive materials, primarily CO-60 beta reference sources in various volumes and configurations, with quantities ranging from 1-3 units per line item. All materials must be delivered by August 1, 2025, and include unique packaging, labeling, and technical requirements such as activity tolerance and source identification. Contractors must submit mandatory safety data sheets and comply with specific submission requirements including signed completion of certain solicitation boxes and completion of DFARS clause 52.204-24. The solicitation requires electronic submission through SAM.gov, but responsive bids must include a signed and completed solicitation submitted via email or fax, with quotes due by July 25, 2025.
This procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 334511 with a size standard of 1,350 employees, and Eckert Ziegler Analytics is identified as a recommended source. The contract includes NIST SP 800-171 cybersecurity requirements unless items qualify as Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS), with contractors required to have current assessments not more than three years old. Performance will occur at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & IMF Hazardous Receiving in Bremerton, Washington. The solicitation is structured as FOB Destination, though contractors may quote FOB Origin with delivery cost estimates. Given the extremely short timeline with quotes due just two days after posting, this appears to be an urgent procurement for specialized radioactive materials required for naval operations.
