About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces, specifically the 374th Security Forces Squadron at Yokota Air Base, is seeking to procure five solar-powered speed traffic carts to enhance road safety and reduce speeding incidents. The solicitation (FA520925Q0031) is designed to acquire LED radar speed display signs that will serve as a deterrent and warning mechanism in critical areas. The procurement is currently unfunded, with contract award contingent upon future fund availability, targeting a delivery destination of Yokota Air Base in Japan. Vendors must submit their quotes by May 31, 2025, at 12:00 AM, with the government reserving the right to cancel the solicitation if necessary. The technical requirements include specifications for solar panel efficiency, battery backup, LED display functionality, radar speed detection accuracy, and weather-resistant construction.
The solicitation is classified under NAICS Category 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, and Guidance System Manufacturing, with a Product Service Code of 6310 for Traffic and Transit Signal Systems. Notably, this opportunity is set aside specifically for Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) participants, which will limit competition to qualifying vendors. The procurement will follow a firm fixed price arrangement, with the government seeking a part number 128877 for the traffic carts. While no specific budget range is disclosed, the contract will involve shipping five units FOB Destination to an OCONUS location at Yokota Air Base, Japan.
