About this opportunity

NASA's Shared Services Center issued a sole-source justification notice on August 4, 2026, for an off-axis pressure-tuned interferometric spectral filter operating at 467 nanometers for high spectral resolution lidar, with the intent to award to LightMachinery Inc. under FAR 12.102(a) on the basis that LightMachinery is the sole provider of this equipment. Interested organizations may submit written capabilities and qualifications by August 6, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Central Standard Time to determine whether the procurement should proceed on a competitive basis; the Government reserves the right to compete or not to compete based on responses received. Price quotations will not be reviewed or accepted. Performance will be located at NASA Langley Research Center, with procurement managed by NASA/NSSC. The Statement of Work requires design, fabrication, assembly, and delivery of one fully assembled interferometer compatible with high-vacuum environments, capable of operating at temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius and surviving vibration testing to 6.8 g-RMS and thermal cycling between -20 and +55 degrees Celsius. The device must achieve a Free Spectral Range of 1.576 GHz, minimum mirror reflectivity of 99 percent at 467 nanometers, and output wavefront error of 10 nanometers RMS or better. Performance extends through September 30, 2027. Contact Monica Wilson, Procurement Assistant, at monica.d.wilson@nasa.gov. NAICS 334516; PSC 6640.
