About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is preparing to procure transparent vehicular armor (NSN 2541-01-670-6556) under a total small business set-aside, with market survey responses due by October 23, 2027. DLA Weapons Support Columbus seeks 370 units manufactured to Basic Drawing NR 19207 12600534, NAICS 336390 (Other Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturing), PSC 2541 (Weapons Systems Specific Vehicular Accessories). Prospective contractors must meet ballistic and non-ballistic performance certifications, including EJCP, NIST, and CFAT standards, and demonstrate capability for First Article Testing. The agency has not disclosed an anticipated award value or specific ceiling, though the market survey indicates that total estimated contract value may determine Cost or Pricing Data submission requirements and whether the solicitation will follow FAR Part 12 (commercial) or FAR Part 15 (non-commercial) procedures. Contractors not currently approved sources may apply through DLA's Source Approval Request (SAR) Program to qualify; applicants must document manufacturing capability equal to or better than existing approved suppliers. The market survey, posted October 16, 2026, requests detailed pricing, delivery timelines, capacity, SAM registration confirmation, and commercial item determination with supporting documentation. Contact: Amber Weaver, amber.weaver@dla.mil.
