Contractor shall provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certificates, insurance, temporary protection, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract Humidity Secondary Storage, necessary for renovation of eight existing secondary clean sterile SPD storage rooms and three pharmacy rooms and the furnishing and installation of a steam riser from the basement to the 6th floor for supply to the new humidifiers located in Building 1 of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Michigan as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings.



All work is to be completed within 180 days after the issuance of the notice to proceed.



This construction project is set-aside for Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on Fedbizops. There will be pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation packages.



The solicitation will be issued on/about February 24, 2011 with the bid opening on/about March 26, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to VOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $100,00 - $250,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238220; size standard $14 Million applies. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award. Firms may obtain CCR information at http://www.ccr.gov and VetBiz information at http://vip.vetbiz.gov.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Iron Mountain, Michigan will be soliciting a construction project that shall include but not be limited to furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certificates, insurance, temporary protection at the Oscar G. Johnson VAMC, Iron Mountain, Michigan.



Renovating eight existing secondary clean sterile SPD storage rooms and three pharmacy rooms, Each individual secondary sterile supply SPD room as scheduled shall be constructed and fully functional before proceeding to the next sterile supply room. The rooms to be renovated starting with the 4th floor rooms 4190 Respiratory Therapy and 4225 Acute Medical/Surgical areas; 2nd floor rooms include: 2141 Surgery, 2171A Clinic, 2141 Dental, 2242 Imaging; 1st floor rooms include: 1233, 1233A and 1233B Pharmacy, 1355 Out Patient Clinic, 1056 Community Living Center. Furnishing and installation of a steam riser from the basement to the 6th floor for supply to the new humidifiers located in Building 1 of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Michigan as outlined in the contract specifications and as shown on the contract drawings. The estimated construction cost is between, $100,000 - $250,000. The contract duration is 180 calendar days. The estimated award date of the contract is April - June 2010. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 238220, which has a size standard of $14,000,000 in average annual receipts over a three-year period.



This is NOT a request for proposals. This announcement is for planning purposes only, to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement. Interested contractors shall present the following information: a brief overview of the firm's capabilities and experience on projects similar in scope and cost magnitude to this program; and any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., SDVOSB, VOSB, 8(a), Hubzone, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 238220. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. The response to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed two (2) pages. Do NOT send an SF 330. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments.

Respondents will not be contacted regarding their submission or information gathered as a result of this Sources Sought notice.
