About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) has issued a Sources Sought Notice to conduct market research for the procurement of Ammunition Chutes, specifically NSN 1005-01-172-3038 with part numbers 12323398-1 (Government) and S765020-102 (Manufacturer). The Department of the Army is seeking information from both small and large businesses regarding their interest, capabilities, and qualifications to produce these ammunition chutes. Respondents must provide detailed information about their business type, manufacturing capabilities, production lead times, quality management systems, and commercial availability of the item. The survey allows for partial responses but requires all submissions to be sent via email to Contract Specialist Colin Creagh at colin.t.creagh.civ@army.mil with the subject line "Sources Sought Notice, Chute, Ammunition." The deadline for all responses is August 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM, and vendors are encouraged to include relevant sales media and product manuals while clearly marking any proprietary information.

This market research effort does not utilize any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors regardless of size. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the notice. While specific contract values are not disclosed, the government has indicated an estimated requirement of 125 units per year over a five-year period, suggesting a total quantity of approximately 625 ammunition chutes. The procurement falls under NAICS code 332994 for Small Arms, Ordnance, and Ordnance Accessories Manufacturing and PSC code 1005 for Guns, Through 30mm. The government emphasizes that this is solely a market research survey for planning purposes and does not constitute a commitment to issue a solicitation or award a contract.
