About this opportunity
The Indian Health Service Shiprock Service Unit is seeking potential equivalents for a reusable medical device inventory tracking system, with responses due June 15, 2026. The sources-sought notice does not carry a set-aside but requires Indian Economic Enterprise (IEE) certification for offerors responding to this procurement.
The system must track RMD location and movement throughout sterilization workflows—from initial documentation through assembly, sterilization, storage, and delivery to point of use—with real-time visibility into status and location within the healthcare facility. The solution must integrate with the existing M-Systems Electronic Health Record Platform without replacement, major modification, or disruption to clinical workflows. It must support HL7 v2/v3 and/or FHIR messaging standards and enable bidirectional data exchange between the RMD tracking system and EHR, including patient identifiers, surgical case data, provider information, and instrument utilization records. Real-time or near-real-time data synchronization and configurable data mapping are required. The system must interface directly with automated sterile processing equipment, including washer-disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, cart washers, and sterilizers, and automatically capture cycle parameters and performance data. All data transmission must be encrypted and compliant with HIPAA and HHS IS2P requirements. The solution must operate within IHS and HHS cybersecurity frameworks, including FISMA and NIST SP 800-53 controls. Place of performance is the Shiprock Service Unit location. NAICS code 541512 (Computer Systems Design Services) applies.
