About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice for the potential procurement of six specific National Stock Number (NSN) parts that support Ticonderoga CG (47) and Littoral Combat Ships, including bathythermograph probes, cover assemblies, pigtail wire assemblies, and sonar/sound velocity probes. This notice is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a binding solicitation; however, all responses received by the January 16, 2026 deadline will be considered by the Government. The Government intends to award a sole source long-term contract to Lockheed Martin (CAGE 16848) under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though the Government reserves the right to reject any submissions or determine not to proceed with the contract based on responses received. Interested parties should submit company information including name, address, CAGE code, point of contact details, phone number, email, and web page URL to demonstrate their capability and interest. The evaluation will focus on respondents' ability to supply these sole source parts and their qualifications to support naval vessels, with the Government using this market research to determine whether to pursue a competitive procurement or proceed with the sole source approach.

This Pre-Solicitation Notice is not using any set-aside designations, and Lockheed Martin has been identified as the incumbent and intended sole source contractor for this requirement. The anticipated contract structure is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) agreement with a three-year base period followed by two one-year option periods, totaling five years of potential contract performance. While specific award values or budget ranges are not disclosed in this notice, the contract will be structured to accommodate variable quantities of the six identified NSN parts based on operational requirements for the Ticonderoga-class and Littoral Combat Ships. The Government expects responses to this Sources Sought Notice by January 16, 2026, with all information received to be evaluated solely at the Government's discretion to inform market research and procurement strategy decisions.
