About this opportunity
The Army Contracting Command - Detroit Arsenal (ACC-DTA) is conducting market research for a potential future acquisition of Direct Drive Auxiliary Power Units (DDAPU) for the M88A2 Heavy Equipment Recovery Combat Utility Lift and Evacuation System (HERCULES). The procurement targets a specific military equipment component with NSN 6115-01-706-8649 and Part Number 12544629. Interested vendors must complete a detailed survey by April 30, 2025, and submit it via email to Angelo Wilson. To participate, vendors must possess a current DD 2345 Military Critical Technical Data Agreement to access the Technical Data Package (TDP), which is distribution code D and limited to DoD and U.S. DoD contractors. The market research aims to evaluate manufacturing capabilities, production lead times, quality management systems, commercial availability, and business classifications, with a preference for small businesses in NAICS code 335312.
The sources sought notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this procurement. The estimated annual quantity is 70 DDAPU units, projected over a three-year period. First Article Testing will be applicable to the selected vendor, and respondents must demonstrate preparedness to handle confidential information according to government guidelines. While no specific award value is disclosed, the procurement represents a significant military equipment component replacement project. The notice emphasizes the importance of vendors' ability to meet stringent technical, manufacturing, and security requirements. Small businesses in the electrical generator manufacturing sector (NAICS 335312) are particularly encouraged to respond, suggesting potential opportunities for smaller manufacturers to compete for this defense contract.
