About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation has issued a sources sought notice to identify potential manufacturers for 455 National Item Identification Numbers (NIINs) related to Apache helicopter airframe structural components under solicitation SPE4A125R0013. This pre-solicitation seeks to expand the supplier base beyond the currently approved sources and requires interested parties to demonstrate their capability to manufacture the entire list of specified items to the same quality level or better than the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Companies must provide their manufacturing location details and points of contact, with responses due by July 27, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST to jennifer.blamy@dla.mil. To become an approved source, manufacturers must submit a comprehensive Source Approval Request (SAR) package to DLA Aviation in Richmond, Virginia, containing all technical data necessary to prove manufacturing competency. This announcement is strictly for informational purposes and does not constitute a formal solicitation or guarantee future contract awards.
This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designation and is open to all qualified manufacturers. Boeing currently serves as the sole approved source with two CAGE codes (8V613 and 48T42) for these Apache helicopter components. While the notice does not specify contract values or budget ranges, the substantial quantity of 455 different NIINs suggests a significant procurement requirement for these airframe structural components. The timeline for companies to prepare and submit their SAR packages extends beyond the initial response deadline, as the approval process requires comprehensive technical documentation and evaluation. No compensation will be provided for response preparation, and all submissions are voluntary with no obligation from the government to award contracts based on the responses received.
