About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is conducting a Sources Sought Notice for F-16 Asymmetric Brake repair services, specifically targeting National Stock Number 1680011689396WF. The government is performing market research to determine potential sources and assess whether this procurement can be competitive or set aside for small businesses. Interested parties must submit a three-page white paper demonstrating their capabilities to repair the F-16 brake, including technical competencies, repair processes, and ability to obtain necessary technical documentation. Responses must address the company's repair experience, internal quality control processes, anticipated lead times, and subcontracting percentages. All interested parties are required to submit their capability statements by January 1, 2025, to both Shauna Vanderschaaf (Buyer) and Piper Martin (Contracting Officer) via email.
Currently, Moog Military Aircraft LLC (MMA) is the only known source capable of completing these brake repairs and owns the technical repair data. The procurement targets the North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code 811210, which has a size standard of $34.0 million, and the government is particularly interested in responses from small businesses, including 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, HUBZone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. While no specific award value is mentioned, the size standard suggests potential contract values up to $34 million. The government is seeking businesses that can demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and test F-16 Asymmetric Brakes without relying on government-provided configuration or repair process data. Respondents must show they can either develop or legally obtain the necessary technical resources to perform comprehensive brake repairs for military aircraft.
