About this opportunity

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City Division (NSWCPCD) is conducting a Request for Information to identify potential sources for a commercial off-the-shelf wireless intercommunications system to support the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) program upgrade effort. The system must provide full duplex digital communications with a minimum of 15 users per channel, support at least 25 channels, and accommodate three simultaneously speaking users per channel, with preferred specifications including 100 channels supporting 31 users per channel and 6 simultaneous speakers. Key technical requirements include operation in the 2.4GHz frequency range, line-of-sight range up to 2,500 feet, frequency hopping spread spectrum technology at 50 hops per second, and a minimum 8-hour operating time. The system must function as either a standalone unit or wireless extension to existing intercommunications systems, include built-in testing capabilities, and feature a charging station capable of simultaneously charging 6 portable transceivers. Responses to this market research survey are due by September 14, 2025.

This opportunity does not include any set-aside designations and no incumbent contractors or potential award values are specified in the notice. The portable transceivers must weigh approximately 11 ounces with 3 AA batteries and measure 6.1 inches in length, 2.9 inches in width, and 1.9 inches in depth, while the base station must operate on 9-33VDC nominal power at 1A maximum with a 1A fuse requirement. The charging station specifications call for 120 VAC, 1A, 50/60Hz power input with GFI outlet recommendations. Technical specifications include RF power output of 100 mW default with factory programmable range of 1-100mW, physical channel spacing of 300KHz, and speech encoding at 32Kbit/sec ADPCM. The system falls under NAICS code 334220 for Radio and Television Broadcasting and Wireless Communications Equipment Manufacturing and PSC code 5830 for Intercommunication And Public Address Systems, Except Airborne.
