About this opportunity

The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity, on behalf of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, is conducting market research through this Sources Sought Notice to identify potential vendors capable of supplying a 2-Channel Auditory Evoked Potential (AEP) system equipped with Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP) and Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) capabilities for use in rat research models. The system must be capable of measuring vestibular reflex thresholds, myogenic response amplitudes, and stimulus-response latencies to quantify deficits in vestibular and auditory function. Respondents should submit capability statements not exceeding 10 pages in PDF or Microsoft Word format to Contract Specialist Benjamin.t.marcus2.civ@health.mil by March 27, 2026. The Government is interested in Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) or modified COTS solutions that integrate with an IAC Series MAC-1 acoustic chamber. It is important to note that this is a market research notice only; no contract will be awarded directly as a result of this Sources Sought Notice, and responses will be used solely for planning and acquisition strategy development purposes.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and does not identify any current contractors or potential incumbents. The notice does not specify an award value or budget range for the anticipated procurement. The required system deliverables include one electrophysiology comprehensive assembly with dual-channel recording capability for simultaneous testing of two rats, capable of producing sound frequencies from 125 to 40,000 Hz at minimum output levels of 110 dB SPL for air conduction and 60 dB for bone conduction, adjustable sampling rates between 200 and 40,000 Hz, probes and cabling for two rats plus two replacement units, one Windows 11 workstation with validated analysis software, complete system installation, on-site training, and a minimum one-year warranty. Respondents should note that telephone inquiries will not be accepted and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to submitters beyond a confirmation email acknowledging receipt.
