About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is conducting a market survey to identify potential suppliers for two gyroscope control components: NSN 6615-012444250 (Part Number 478711-02) and NSN 6615-012444249 (Part Number 478712-02), both Control, Gyroscope, Attitude-Heading items. The agency is considering the award of an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) for these components, which are currently approved exclusively from BAE Systems Controls, Inc. Potential suppliers must demonstrate manufacturing capability, commercial viability, and the ability to meet delivery requirements as specified by the Defense Logistics Agency. The evaluation will focus on whether the items qualify as commercial products, availability of commercial sales history and pricing data, production and delivery capabilities, and pricing structures including quantity discounts. Interested parties must submit completed market survey questionnaires within seven business days of the February 9, 2026 posting date, with all inquiries and responses directed to Contract Specialist Patrick Sikorski at Patrick.Sikorski@dla.mil.

This procurement carries no set-aside designation and is currently held by BAE Systems Controls, Inc. (CAGE 89954), which retains exclusive engineering source approval and manufacturing knowledge essential to maintaining part quality. The proposed IDC structure includes a three-year base period with up to four optional one-year extension periods, and a guaranteed minimum order value anticipated at one to ten percent of forecasted annual demand. While specific dollar values have not been disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the contract framework anticipates ongoing demand with pricing and terms negotiated upfront and delivery orders issued as required. Suppliers interested in competing or providing alternate sources must contact the Contract Specialist by the February 16, 2026 deadline and demonstrate their ability to qualify under the design control activity's approval procedures to establish themselves as viable alternative sources.
