Notice text
The 3D seismic data must be located within the boundaries of National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska (NPRA) in an area where exploration drilling has demonstrated the presence of stratigraphically trapped oil to the north and structurally trapped oil and gas to the south, as confirmed by exploration drilling as recently as 2008¿2020.
This survey occupies approximately 500 square miles within the NPRA, between 69.8 and 70.1 degrees north latitude and between 152.6 and 154.3 degrees west longitude. The Key Creek North survey overlaps with Federal leases to the north in which oil has been discovered and is near Federal leases 15 to 30 miles to the south where both oil and gas have been discovered. No other 3D surveys are available for commercial licensing within this critical oil-to-gas transition zone.
