About this opportunity
The Indian Health Service, under the Department of Health and Human Services, is soliciting proposals for solid and medical waste pickup services. The contractor must furnish all necessary personnel, equipment, supplies, facilities, transportation, tools, materials, and supervision to perform the required waste management services. The primary contract requirement involves providing an 8-yard dumpster to be placed in the fenced rear area of the clinic and emptying the dumpster contents on a weekly basis. The solicitation does not specify evaluation criteria in the provided documentation, though contractors should expect standard federal procurement evaluation standards to apply. The due date for proposals is April 9, 2026, with the solicitation having been posted on March 12, 2026.
This solicitation is designated as a set-aside exclusively for Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises, limiting competition to qualifying entities within this category. No incumbent contractor or award value information is provided in the solicitation notice. The contract requires weekly waste collection services with an 8-yard dumpster capacity, indicating ongoing operational support rather than a one-time procurement. The place of performance is located in Charles City, Virginia 23030. The work is classified under NAICS category 562112 (Hazardous Waste Collection) and PSC category S205 (Housekeeping—Trash/Garbage Collection), indicating the specialized nature of medical waste handling required for this healthcare facility.
