About this opportunity
The U.S. Consulate General in Cape Town has issued a Special Notice announcing the cancellation of Solicitation No.19SF2025Q0004 for the procurement of electric vehicles. The solicitation, originally posted on January 28, 2025, has been terminated following a comprehensive reassessment of the Consulate's operational requirements. This decision was made in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) sections 14.209 and 15.206(e), which provide guidelines for solicitation modifications and cancellations. The Department of State, a civilian federal agency, is the issuing organization for this notice. The cancellation stems from a strategic shift in vehicle procurement, with the Consulate determining that hybrid vehicles would better serve their mission needs.
Contractors and interested vendors are advised that no contract will be awarded under the current solicitation for electric vehicles. The Consulate plans to issue a new solicitation for hybrid vehicles in the near future and encourages potential vendors to monitor SAM.gov for upcoming opportunities. Kristin Braden, the Contracting Officer, can be contacted at capetown_quotation@state.gov for any additional information. The notice falls under the NAICS Category 336110 for Automobile and Light Duty Motor Vehicle Manufacturing and PSC Category 2305 for Ground Effect Vehicles. While the current solicitation is canceled, the Consulate expressed appreciation for all vendors who submitted proposals and maintained an open invitation for future procurement opportunities. Interested parties should remain attentive to future solicitations and be prepared to adapt to potential changes in the Consulate's procurement requirements.
Notice text
In accordance with FAR 14.209 and FAR 15.206(e), the U.S. Consulate General Cape Town hereby cancels Solicitation No.19SF2025Q0004, originally posted on January 28, 2025, for the Procurement of Electric Vehicles (EVs).
Following a reassessment of the Consulate's operational and technical requirements, it has been determined that hybrid vehicles are more appropriate to meet mission needs. As a result, the current solicitation for electric vehicles is no longer aligned with the revised scope of work.
Therefore, no contract will be awarded under this solicitation. The Consulate intends to issue a new solicitation for hybrid vehicles in the near future. Interested vendors are encouraged to monitor SAM.gov for updates and future opportunities.
The Consulate appreciates all vendors who submitted proposals and thanks them for their interest in U.S. Government procurement opportunities.
