About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal seeks to award a sole source contract to Sunvair Corporation to provide no mask plating fixtures for the B340 Advanced Metal Finishing facility at the Corpus Christi Army Depot. The fixtures are required to support electroplating processes and were developed through the Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities program managed by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences. As the owner of the proprietary rights to the designs, Sunvair Corporation is considered the only source available to meet the depot's needs. Proposals are due by February 11, 2022.
There is no set-aside designation for this requirement. Sunvair Corporation is identified as the potential incumbent and current contractor given their ownership of the proprietary rights to the fixture designs from previous research and development work. The place of performance will be Corpus Christi, Texas. The government estimates will not be publicly disclosed since this is a sole source notice rather than full solicitation.
Notice text
The no mask plating fixtures for the B340 Advanced Metal Finishing facility were developed through the Commercial Technologies for Maintenance Activities (CTMA) program of the Department of Defense which was managed by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences (NCMS). Advanced Tooling Corporation (now Sunvair Corporation) conducted this research and development project with Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) and Naval Fleet Readiness Center Southwest to reduce the cost and environmental impact of the electroplating process. Therefore, Sunvair Corporation owns the proprietary rights to the designs of these fixtures and is the only source available to provide these fixtures to CCAD.
