About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of the Interior, on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Jag Marine, Seward, Alaska, for dry-dock and shipyard services for the R/V Tiglax by September 9, 2026. The agency has restricted competition because Jag Marine is the only known shipyard within reasonable distance capable of hauling out and dry docking the R/V Tiglax during the required performance period; use of other capable shipyards would require significant additional vessel transit, fuel, crew time, and cost.
Work includes dry docking the vessel, inspection access, rudder repair-related painting, and associated shipyard services, all performed in Seward, Alaska. The acquisition is conducted under simplified procedures per RFP Part 12, with the Contracting Officer's determination that only one source is reasonably available documented under RFP 12.102(a). All responsible sources may submit responses demonstrating capability to meet the requirement. Responses must be received by 1:00 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, and should be submitted to Contracting Officer Tanner Frank at Tanner_Frank@ios.doi.gov.
