About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command issued a sole source justification for the procurement of Oshkosh 3000TPH Snow Blower repair parts under contract FA469025P0046, awarded on July 25, 2025. The sole source justification is based on the proprietary nature of the required brand-name parts and the exclusive distribution rights held by M-B Companies for these specific Oshkosh snow blower components. The agency determined that no competitive alternatives are currently available due to the specialized nature of the OEM parts and the need to maintain system compatibility with existing Oshkosh equipment. While the awarded vendor is listed as unknown in the notice, the contract amount is also not disclosed. The Air Combat Command has committed to ongoing market surveillance to identify potential future competitive opportunities, including monitoring for changes in distribution rights, emergence of other authorized sources, or availability of equivalent parts that meet OEM specifications. The agency will also evaluate long-term supportability and potential transitions to more competitively supported platforms in future procurement cycles.

Notice text

Given the proprietary nature of the required brand-name parts and the exclusive distribution rights held by M-B Companies for Oshkosh 3000TPH Snow Blower repair parts, no immediate actions are available to eliminate the current barriers to competition.
However, the agency will continue to monitor the market for any changes in distribution rights, the emergence of other authorized sources, or the availability of competitively manufactured equivalent parts that meet OEM specifications and maintain system compatibility. Any such developments would be evaluated for future competitive sourcing opportunities.
The agency will also review the long-term supportability and lifecycle replacement plans for Oshkosh equipment and assess the potential to transition to platforms that allow for broader competitive support in future procurement cycles.
In the interim, the agency will document supplier performance and pricing trends and will conduct updated market research prior to any future acquisition to determine if competitive conditions have changed.

Awarded contract FA469025P0046 to unknown vendor for unknown amount on 2025-07-25.
