Update #3 · Latest ·

The following Questions and Answers are provided:
Q1- the raised concrete structures with clean out caps pose a risk to snow removal as they are protruding much higher than the walking surface. Damage to these may happen but we plan on posting high visibility cones on top of the structures. Is this acceptable and I do not feel as if any normal wear and tear should be the contractor responsibility. Your thoughts? Also due to the time of the year staking the property may not be possible due to the frost in the ground already. Please note this makes it slightly more challenging for snow removal efforts.

A1: Yes post high visibility cones. If you damage structures you are responsible to repair. You can also stake the property but it may not be possible due to the frost in the ground already.

Q2- The back half of the building is all stone with small areas of concrete. Will the contractor be responsible for re grading after the winter/sweeping of the roadways and concrete? If so cleanup should be on a time and materials basis.

A2. No

Q3- Does the contractor have to remove the snow from the two concrete washracks?

A3: No

Q4- It is not noted on the plan but the back side of the building located by the sidewalk also houses a fenced off area that leads to two control room doors, is the contractor responsible for clearing a path to the two doors from the fence?

A4: Yes

Q5- can the contractor park a piece of snow removal equipment on site?

A5: Yes

Q6- New England often has 1-3" snow storms that if not plowed pose a great risk of icy unsafe conditions that almost always cannot be treated with just a salting application. Is it the contractor's discretion when plowing needs to be performed under these circumstances and if so should I include. Plowing price for 1-3"

A6: No, the COR or designated representative will call you for services

Q7- if a snow/ice storm happens before the contract award date can we perform services on time and materials basis. Would this be acceptable?

A7: No

Q8: Item #0006, Clear sidewalk, Only has a unit price. Should this be priced the same way as plowing 3-6, 6-10, 10-14 and 14" plus

A8: Yes
