About this opportunity
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at NAS Patuxent River, MD intends to procure Smart Sensor Payload System (SSPS) A-Kits and associated spares for the USMC MQ-9A MUX/MALE program through a delivery order under existing Basic Ordering Agreement N0001922G0006. The agency plans to negotiate directly with General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) under sole source authority, citing 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, as GA-ASI is the exclusive designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator of the MQ-9 system with the requisite technical knowledge and data. This procurement represents a follow-on effort for components previously integrated with the MQ-9A System. While this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may submit capability information to demonstrate their qualifications, with all responses due by July 25, 2025. The government will evaluate responses solely to determine whether competitive procurement is warranted, though the decision remains at the agency's discretion.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and targets the specialized NAICS code 334511 for search, detection, navigation, guidance, aeronautical, and nautical system manufacturing. General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. is identified as the sole source contractor due to their unique position as the original equipment manufacturer of the MQ-9 platform. The notice does not specify contract values, quantities of A-Kits to be procured, or performance timelines for the delivery and installation services. Companies seeking subcontracting opportunities are directed to contact GA-ASI directly rather than the government contracting office. Written responses must be submitted via email to Mr. Zachary Sinclair or Mrs. Kristina Johnson, with phone inquiries explicitly prohibited. The procurement falls under PSC code 5999 for miscellaneous electrical and electronic components, reflecting the technical nature of the sensor payload systems being acquired.
