About this opportunity

The Department of the Army Materiel Command Army Contracting Command is seeking to procure 160 kits of small unmanned aerial system (sUAS) components for the Purpose-Built Attritable System (PBAS) program. These kits will include NDAA-compliant critical hardware components such as flight controllers, cameras, video transmitters, radios, and electronic speed controllers, along with additional non-critical components like motors, propellers, frames, batteries, tools, and training aids. The procurement is designed to enable the assembly of 160 complete drones to support unit drone training and operational requirements. While specific evaluation criteria are not detailed in the pre-solicitation notice, the urgent timeline suggests a focus on rapid acquisition and compliance with NDAA regulations. The opportunity is currently in the pre-solicitation phase, with responses due by May 12, 2025, indicating a compressed timeline for potential vendors to prepare and submit their proposals.

The contract opportunity is not set aside for any specific category of business, making it open to a broad range of potential contractors in the Aircraft Manufacturing (NAICS 336411) and Unmanned Aircraft (PSC 1550) categories. Although no specific incumbent contractors are mentioned, the procurement is time-sensitive, with a critical objective of supporting training and fielding by September 2025. While the exact award value is not specified in the pre-solicitation notice, the comprehensive nature of the 160 drone kits suggests a significant procurement investment. The kit components will be sourced from commercially available NDAA-compliant sources, with specific items including flight controllers like the Orqa F405 3030 FC, electronic speed controllers, DC motors, FPV cameras, tactical controllers, batteries, and propellers. The total quantity of components ranges from 10-640 units per item type, indicating a complex and detailed procurement strategy.
