About this opportunity
The Missile Defense Agency has awarded Raytheon Company a noncompetitive ceiling increase of $8,410,280,000 to an existing indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, raising the total contract value from $3,331,830,000 to $11,742,110,000. Under this modification to contract HQ0851-21-D-0001, Raytheon will provide sustaining engineering and product support services for the Standard Missile-3 Block missile variants for the U.S. and Foreign Military Sales partners, including obsolescence mitigation, cybersecurity engineering, flight test activities, spare parts acquisition, and missile recertification. The work will be performed in Tucson, Arizona and Huntsville, Alabama, with a performance period extending from October 30, 2020 through October 29, 2029. The ceiling increase was justified on a sole-source basis because Raytheon, as the round design agent for all SM variants since 1966, possesses unique specialized expertise, proprietary data, and technical knowledge that no other contractor can replicate without substantial duplicative costs and significant capital investments.
