About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking repair services for a fire dozer transport vehicle (EN-7900) designated for Six Rivers National Forest. The procurement involves specialized automotive repair work on a 2018 International HX620 Transport tractor, with required services including installation of a new head valve, seal kits, and head and gasket assembly. The contractor must provide all associated labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, inspection, quality control, and supplies necessary to complete the work. This is a Sole Source Request for Quotation being pursued under Revolutionary FAR Overhaul 13.101(b), indicating the government has determined only one contractor can meet its needs. The closing response date for this pre-solicitation notice is January 16, 2026, with an anticipated award date of January 21, 2026. A fully executed Justification and Approval document will be posted with any resulting award notice to explain the rationale for the sole source procurement.

This procurement includes no set-aside designations, and the notice does not identify any specific incumbent contractors or potential competitors. No budget range or award value is disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice. The contract will be awarded as a stand-alone purchase order rather than a formal contract. The projected period of performance is 30 days from the Notice to Proceed, with an anticipated timeline running from January 21, 2026 through February 19, 2026. The work will be performed at Six Rivers National Forest, and the engagement is classified under NAICS Code 811111 (General Automotive Repair) and Product/Service Code J023 (Maintenance/Repair of Ground Effect Vehicles and Motor Vehicles). Interested contractors should contact Contract Specialist Matthew Killian at matthew.killian@usda.gov for additional information.
